Vaginoplasty in Tijuana

The ultimate guide to Vaginoplasty in Tijuana

Last fact-checked: 16 September 2020

Repair or tighten this most sensitive part of the body for less with a vaginoplasty in Tijuana. When using our site, it's possible to save more than 50% compared to prices in North America.

What Does a Vaginoplasty Do?

Childbirth, as well as the aging process, may make the vaginal muscles looser. Childbirth may also lead to tears or other damage in the vaginal walls.

A vaginoplasty procedure can help to repair any damage, as well as tighten muscles. Many women seek this procedure to enhance sexual pleasure and boost self-confidence.

Vaginoplasty can be performed as a stand-alone procedure but is sometimes also done as part of a vaginal rejuvenation procedure, in combination with other surgery, including labiaplasty.

Why Have a Vaginoplasty in Tijuana?

Tijuana has become a leading destination for medical tourists, particularly those driving or flying from North Americans who find it a convenient and accessible place to come to. Not everyone wants or has the option of taking a lot of time off work to go on a surgical holiday, and border locations, such as Tijuana, still give patients the option of traveling to another country for cost-effective treatments, but without having to travel long distances. For residents in the Southern States, traveling to Mexico is almost as easy as going to the next state.

North Americans have been coming to Tijuana for a long time, and it stands to reason that medical, dental, health and cosmetic care are just more services that Mexico can offer at better prices. The prices are less not because the quality is inferior to the services north of the Border, but because the cost of living is that much lower. Rents, wages, cost of supplies – all of these are significantly lower in Mexico than in the US – and so the savings are passed on to you.

While up until relatively recently, people may look at you with trepidation if you said you were going to Mexico for surgery, nowadays people are much more open to it. In part, this is because Mexico has made huge investment in facilities and infrastructure to accommodate medical travelers. The world is a much smaller place and globalization means that good hygiene standards and practices are adopted and accepted globally.

Our partner clinics and doctors in Mexico have the same professional memberships, affiliations and qualifications as doctors in the US, placing just as much importance on patient satisfaction as any of their counterparts over the Border.

The key is to choose a reliable clinic and surgeon, whose credentials stack up. You should do a little background research, but by booking through Medical Departures you are assured that we have already done background research – the results of which are included in our listings.

What Does the Vaginoplasty Procedure Involve?

The surgery involves the removal of excess vaginal lining, with the muscles and soft tissues tightened with stitches. The stitches are dissolvable so the patient won't have to come back to have them removed.

Depending on the patient's condition and surgeon's advice, non-invasive vaginal tightening may be carried out. This is done through heating the tissue using a special laser or radiofrequency waves. However, those with significant laxity are usually better candidates for surgical tightening (i.e. invasive surgery using a more traditional scalpel).

The procedure takes between one and two hours and is usually done with a general anesthetic. Laser tightening usually takes much less time but may require several sessions over a period of months.

What Is the Recovery Like After a Vaginoplasty?

The genital area is remarkably resilient to pain and heals fairly quickly. Following the procedure, you will experience discomfort, but the pain should subside after a few days. You won’t be allowed to have a bath until the stitches have dissolved, but showering will be viable after 48 hours.

You will need to take things gently, with no vigorous exercise or strenuous activity (including sex) for six weeks.
