Rhinoplasty in Greater Seoul Area

The ultimate guide to Rhinoplasty in Greater Seoul Area

Last fact-checked: 26 November 2020

If you’re looking at affordable alternatives for getting the nose you want, rhinoplasty in Seoul is worth considering.

Also informally known as a “nose job,” this is one of the most common cosmetic procedures in the world. With Medical Departures, you can find trustworthy clinics and surgeons with the expertise to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Why Should I Undergo Rhinoplasty in Seoul?

Medical tourism is big business these days, with millions of people every year swapping their local hospitals and clinics for low-cost medical or surgical care abroad. Some people are still under the impression that if you travel abroad, standards are somehow inferior. And while that may be true for some developing countries, Korea is one of Asia's top economies and one of the most popular, reliable destinations for cross-border cosmetic treatments.

South Korea and its exciting capital of Seoul is far from a developing country; in fact, the city epitomises just how good the level of care and expertise abroad can be, with many patients opting to come here purely to take advantage of the quality on offer in addition to price.

Seoul certainly is no stranger to plastic surgery, having been attracting Japanese and Chinese tourists for decades. It also does a brisk trade with local patients, as plastic surgery is almost treated as a rite of passage here with young men and women thinking almost nothing of having corrective surgery—particular procedures that lengthen the nose, enlarge breasts and make the eyes wider.

Compared to Western prices, Seoul is also more affordable here; most patients save at least 50% on the cost of a rhinoplasty in Seoul.

Why Should I Book with Medical Departures?

Just because a destination like Seoul boasts excellent cosmetic facilities, many clinics abound, and it's important that you do your own research into clinics, surgeons and other aspects of your procedure. Any kind of surgery requires due consideration, and this especially applies to a life-changing facial procedure such as rhinoplasty.

Medical Departures makes this job easier for our patients as we carry out a number of checks before listing clinics and doctors on our site, including

  • Checking the credentials and professional memberships of surgeons.

  • Carrying out legal and criminal record checks

  • Collating and publishing real patient reviews testimonials.

  • Personally visiting clinics and publishing high-definition photos as well as other useful information so you can make your own decision.

How Long Does a Rhinoplasty Procedure Take and How Long Will I Need to Stay in Seoul?

Rhinoplasty is tailored to the individual’s requirements. For some patients, the removal of the tissue at the end of the nose may be all that’s required, which will take far less time than a case that involves a more extensive nose reconstruction or work on the cartilage.

Typically, after the procedure, you may need to recover in Seoul for a few days, but your surgeon will be able to advise on this before you book your tickets to South Korea.

What Is the Recovery Time for Rhinoplasty?

This varies, although you should be able to return home within a couple of days. Your surgeon will advise you after your follow-up appointment. You will have to be careful not to knock your nose while it is healing, taking things easy and sleeping in an elevated position on your back.

You can start gentle exercises after three weeks but nothing vigorous for at least six weeks.

How Much Can I Save on Rhinoplasty in Seoul Compared to Home?

Rhinoplasty in Seoul costs around 50% less compared to Australia, for example, which usually means savings of several thousand dollars.

While these prices are tempting, we’d always advise that you carefully consider surgery to your nose. After all, it is one of the most noticeable things about you, and you want to make sure it is what you want, and more importantly, that you choose the right surgeon.
