This injectable dermal filler is a long-lasting, temporary solution to combat facial wrinkles and lines, plumping them out and helping to rebuild new collagen below the skin’s surface, adding fullness and a more youthful look.
A great treatment to have when you’re on holiday, there are clinics offering this quick treatment throughout Thailand.
How Does Radiesse Work?
Radiesse is made with calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres–identical to natural minerals found in your body. The product works in two ways:
- First, by adding volume to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
- Second, by stimulating collagen production – the essential building block of healthy skin.
Radiesse is particularly effective for deep facial wrinkles, including marionette lines (the lines that run downwards from the corners of the mouth), the nasolabial folds (smile lines) and to the areas either side of the chin where sagging caused by volume loss can result in jowls.
Why Have Radiesse Treatment in Thailand?
Thailand is one of the world’s top medical tourism destinations, with millions of satisfied patients having flown into the country for both invasive and non-invasive treatments over the last two decades.
Although the prices of Radiesse are lower in Thailand, making a special trip just for this procedure is not going to be cost-effective; however, if you are visiting on holiday or business, it could make sense to have treatment while you are there.
The treatment takes between 15 minutes and an hour, and apart from a little redness and swelling afterward, which soon resolves, it won’t impact too much on your other activities. This means you can get on with your holiday, with places like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Pattaya all proving popular with medical travellers.

How Long Is the Procedure for Radiesse? What Should I Expect?
You will usually be given a local anaesthetic to numb the area being treated, and while this is taking effect the injection sites will be selected. Using a fine needle, the Radiesse will be injected under the skin to the problem areas.
After treatment, you will likely experience some swelling and a reddening of the skin, as well as some discomfort after the anaesthetic has worn off. It should also be noted that:
- You will be able to return to your normal activities immediately, although you will be advised to keep out of the sun and to refrain from wearing make-up for a day or two.
- Any side-effects should wear off within 48 hours.
- You should notice an immediate improvement, although it may take a few weeks for it to be fully noticeable.
- Your treatment can be touched-up if you require, and the effects should last for around a year.
What Is the Cost of Radiesse in Thailand Compared to Australia and New Zealand?
Radiesse is typically priced by the syringe and so you may require more than one syringe full, dependent on the extent of your treatment.
In Australia costs are around $800 (US $600, CAD $750, £400 GBP, €550), whereas Radiesse in Thailand averages $500 (US $400, CAD $500, £250 GBP, €350).
