Juvederm in South Korea

The ultimate guide to Juvederm in South Korea

Last fact-checked: 12 July 2020

Get a more youthful look by reducing your wrinkles with the popular dermal filler treatment Juvederm®. In South Korea, making the most of yourself is somewhat embedded into the national psyche and this has given rise to a plethora of world-class clinics with skilled practitioners who are ready to enhance your natural beauty.

Quick treatments like this are great if you haven’t got much time—and the results are immediately noticeable. Book with Medical departures to save up to 50% on treatment in South Korea.

How Does Juvederm Work?

Juvederm is a dermal filler, which is a type of serum injected directly into the skin to work its ‘magic’. The active ingredient in Juvederm is hyaluronic acid (HA), which occurs naturally in our own skin. HA provides hydration and is able to hold more than 1,000 times its own weight in water. When we are born we have lots of HA, but it decreases as we get older—especially once we get over 40.

This is why babies have beautiful, moist-looking glowing skin (and why it becomes increasingly harder to keep our skin moisturized as we age).

Juvederm hydrates and adds volume, which fills in the appearance of lines and wrinkles and moisturizes.

On What Areas Can Juvederm Be Used?

Juvederm is most effective for:

  • Lines and wrinkles that are ‘static’, i.e. those you can see when your face is at rest and not pulling an expression.

  • It can also be used for other areas, for example, on the lips to increased fullness.

Why Should I Have Juvederm in South Korea?

The culture in South Korea is very image-conscious so it’s no surprise that there are qualified beauty and cosmetic clinics on practically every block in major cities like Seoul, the capital, and Busan, to the south. With treatments so commonplace and products like these being so ubiquitous, it’s easy to forget that fillers are actually a medical treatment, and so a certain degree of caution is required.

This is why you should do your research when you are looking at dermal fillers. While brands such as Juvederm are well-known and available throughout the world, there may be different products available in the range which aren’t available in some countries. For example, the FDA in the US has approved Juvederm but not Juvederm Volift; on the other hand, Juvederm Volift has been approved in Europe.

South Korea is renowned for its innovative approach to beauty, and it is worthwhile finding out about new products that may not have been approved for use in your home country yet.

Likewise, you should always do some research on the clinics and doctors you intend to use. These products must be administered by a professional with the appropriate training and skills, which is why we here at Medical Departures run our own background checks on criminal/legal records, confirm qualifications, verify professional memberships and collect online testimonials that are published on our site.

We also conduct onsite visits and only if we’re happy with all of these aspects do we publish a clinic/doctor. Booking with us means you are always assured of booking in with a South Korean clinic that is reliable and trustworthy.

How Long Does Juvederm Treatment Take and What’s Involved?

Juvederm is administered by an injection with a fine-needled syringe. Each area takes 15 minutes. You will be given a local anesthetic before the treatment, so you shouldn’t feel any pain.

What Is the Recovery Time after Juvederm?

Redness, swelling and maybe a little itching or stinging are normal, but these should dissipate fairly quickly— within a day or two at the most. You will be able to get on with your everyday activities almost straight after your treatment and can disguise any redness with makeup if required.

How Much Does Juvederm Cost in South Korea Compared to Australia or New Zealand?
