The ultimate guide to Juvederm in Mexico
Last fact-checked: 11 September 2020
Reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles with affordable Juvederm® treatments in Mexico. This range of injectable dermal filler treatments adds volume to plump out your skin and diminish those wrinkles. Containing hyaluronic acid (HA), a carbohydrate found naturally in our skin, Juvederm produces instant results that last for up to a year.
Juvederm is available at our quality-checked clinics all over Mexico–with prices considerably lower than you’d pay at home.
How Does Juvederm Work?
The active ingredient in Juvederm, hyaluronic acid, is found in many areas in the human body–your skin, eyes and joints. It is a lubricant and moisturizer, retaining more than 1,000 times its weight in water. Infants and young people have a high concentration of HA but as we get older our bodies produce less of it, especially over the age of 40. Our skin is naturally plumped up with this super moisturizer, and once it starts to diminish, facial lines and wrinkles start to appear. Juvederm replaces lost HA, adding volume to the skin to smooth away unwanted lines.
It works best on static lines–those you can see while your face is still, rather than expression lines.
Why Have Juvederm in Mexico?
It probably isn’t going to be cost-effective to travel for a cosmetic holiday to Mexico solely for Juvederm treatment, although you will save some money. However, if you live near to the US-Mexico border or on holiday or business anyway, then it could well be worth your while to work a treatment into your travels. You can easily save a couple of hundred dollars per syringe–and if you are having treatment on an area that requires two syringes, then the savings become substantial.
Medical tourism is a growth industry and in recent years has gained huge popularity because of the quality on offer. Just as anywhere else in the world, Mexico adheres to international standards on hygiene and safety, medical training is on a par with developed nations and the same brands, equipment and technology are all available and used here.
Why Book with Medical Departures?
You should always do a little fact-finding yourself before booking an appointment for medical care.
This process is made easier and safer when using Medical Departures. We fully check, verify and confirm doctors' qualifications, professional memberships and pending or past litigation. We visit clinics and seek out patient testimonials, actively encouraging all our patients to send us their reviews once they have seen one of our doctors. We then publish these on our site, unedited, whether good, bad or indifferent.
We aim for transparency and make all of this information freely available to all, so you can form your own conclusions and pick a clinic that's right for you.
How Long Does Juvederm Treatment Take and What Does it Involve?
Injections take between 15 and 60 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. A local anesthetic is usually administered to make the experience more comfortable and the Juvederm is injected into the skin using a fine needle.
You may experience some temporary side-effects for a couple of days, including swelling, redness and tenderness, but you will be able to return to your normal activities straight after your treatment. You can even put make-up on right away if you want to cover the redness.
The results should be immediately noticeable, but you will notice gradual improvement after a few weeks. You can always return for top-up treatments.
How Much Can I Save on Juvederm in Mexico Compared to the United States and Canada?
Treatment is usually priced by the syringe, with some areas on the face requiring two. The average cost of Juvederm in Mexico is around $275 (CAD $330, GBP £175, Euros 240, AUD $350). In the US, the average price is around $500 (CAD $600, GBP £320, Euros 450, AUD $650).
