What Does a Hair Transplant Involve?

There are numerous methods and the one used for you will depend on where you are losing your hair, how much is being transplanted and where the grafts are taken from.

The most common methods are FUT and FUE, as summarised below:

  • Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT):
Also referred to as strip harvesting, this technique takes a strip of hair and dissects it into smaller ones; these are then implanted at predetermined sites.

  • Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE):
For this method, the grafts come from follicles harvested from around the entire scalp; these are then implanted into the required sites.
