Is a Forehead Lift for Me?
Lines and wrinkles appear when collagen and hyaluronic acid production slows down (which happens to us all as we age). Wrinkles and lines on the forehead become deeper and the skin begins to sag, which makes once-arched brows become flatter. All this makes you look tired, old and even grumpy.
A forehead lift removes loose skin and fat around this area to make you look years younger with this procedure often an element of a facelift or facial rejuvenation.
Why Should I Consider a Forehead Lift in South Korea?
If you’re looking at affordable ways to keep the signs of aging at bay, then traveling overseas as a medical tourist is one of your best options if you are seeking to keep costs down. You will discover myriad destinations to choose from and if you are drawing up a list for your forehead lift, then South Korea should be on it.
It may not yet be as popular as Thailand for Western medical tourists, but Korea certainly on the map as far as the Chinese and Japanese are concerned. In fact, South Korea already a favorite destination for cosmetic surgery, with more cosmetic surgery performed per capita than any other country in the world..
South Korea has only just begun to market itself as a medical tourist destination, and there is no reason to assume it won’t become a favorite destination given it is a modern country with an excellent infrastructure. The country offers superb hospitals and clinics, and the government is investing even more in facilities specifically aimed at international medical tourists.
Korea has a lot to offer not just medical tourists but holidaymakers as well. It has that unique flavor of Asia–a mixture of modernity and deeply traditional culture. Cities are vibrant and exciting, and the countryside stunning and tranquil. There’s everything from glorious beaches to mountain peaks and deep, lush valleys, giving visitors plenty to explore. It’s only a matter of time before it becomes another "must-see" Asian destination on the bucket list.
What Happens During a Forehead Lift Procedure and How Long Does it Take?
The forehead (or brow lift) procedure takes a couple of hours, and your surgeon may use one of two different techniques:
- The endoscopic lift uses an endoscope (a long, thin tube) with a camera and light attached. Through incisions in the scalp, the endoscope is used to remove excess fat from beneath the skin, which is then pulled taught, the excess removed and the remaining skin stitched.
- The open brow lift takes a more traditional approach with a long incision in the hairline. Fat and loose skin is removed and the forehead pulled upwards and secured with sutures.
What Is the Recovery Time?
You will feel a little sore after the procedure, and your forehead may feel tight. After a few days, you should begin to feel better and you will be able to return to work once the stitches have been removed (usually around a week).
Strenuous activity should be avoided for six weeks but do remember to consult your surgeon as to what you can and cannot do, as well as when you'll be able to fly back home.
