Butt Lift in Bangkok

The ultimate guide to Butt Lift in Bangkok

Last fact-checked: 9 October 2020

Get the shape you want with an affordable butt lift in Bangkok.

Also known as a gluteoplasty, this type of plastic surgery is on the increase, with more and more patients seeking to contour the shape of their buttocks.

Medical Departures can help you find quality-checked surgeons in the Thai capital for at least 50% less than what you'd expect to pay at home.

Who is suitable for a butt lift procedure?

Irregularities such as sagging, loose skin can be removed and tightened with a but lift, which is often combined with liposuction.

It is especially recommended if you have lost a lot of weight, provided your weight has not fluctuated much in the previous 12 months.

The procedure should not be confused with a Brazilian Butt Lift, which is designed to give a fuller-looking, hour-glass shape by injecting fat into the buttocks or using implants. However, sometimes a butt lift procedure may flatten the buttocks, in which case an augmentation procedure to add volume may be necessary.

Why Choose Bangkok for Your Gluteoplasty?

Bangkok is a captivating metropolis that welcomes more visitors than practically anywhere else on Earth.

It is one of Southeast Asia’s most important business cities – but amid the skyscrapers and glitzy shopping malls, there are still signs of the old Bangkok to surprise and delight. It may sound like a cliché that there is much to see and do – but there really is. Samuel Johnson’s famous quote ‘When a man is tired of London he is tired of life’ could so aptly be applied to Bangkok.

An active promoter of medical tourism, Thailand’s success in bringing international patients began in Bangkok, around two decades ago. Since then, medical tourism income is now an established part of Thailand’s economy, and visitors continue to travel here from overseas for medical and dental care that is not only more affordable than at home but often considerably better.

The doctors, hospitals and clinics working with international patients are generally of a very high standard; if they weren’t, it is very unlikely medical tourism would have made such a big impact here, and why medical providers do not rest on their laurels in the delivery of their services.

Remaining on top of their game in terms of expertise, customer service, new techniques and increasingly luxurious facilities ensures international patients still put the city as one of the most sought-after locations for their surgery trip.

Finding a Trusted Surgeon with Medical Departures

We recognize that while cost is important for many international patients, so too is safety. Medical Departures has built on the success of its sister website, Dental Departures, to bring patients quality-checked medical and surgical facilities they can trust.

Our Bangkok listings contain information about doctor qualifications and international professional memberships, virtual clinic tours and high-definition photos. With real patient testimonials, patients are able to ‘look before they book’ and come to their own decision about which surgeon to choose.

We also visit all of our partner clinics and only list those we’re happy with ourselves.

How Long Does a Butt Lift Procedure Take?

Depending on the amount of fat and skin that is removed, a butt lift can take anywhere between two and five hours and is usually carried out under a general anaesthetic, although sometimes a combination of sedation and local anaesthesia is used.

There are several techniques used for a butt lift: one of the least invasive involves making two small incisions at the top of the buttocks into which an elastic thread is passed which pulls the buttock tissue upwards to lift and shape the area.

However, your surgeon will discuss the best option with you as the particular technique used will depend on how much fat and/or skin tissue will need removing.

What Is the Recovery Time for a Butt Lift?

The recovery time is usually quite extensive and it will take a few weeks before you can take part in everyday activities again. It should be noted that:

  • Immediately after surgery, you will have tubes inserted into your wounds to drain the fluids that collect under the skin.
  • You will be encouraged to get up out of bed and move around as this aids healing, and you will probably be allowed to go home as long as you have someone with you for a night or two.
  • You may find it more comfortable to lie on your stomach for a little while as you are likely to suffer discomfort and tenderness.
  • Most people are able to return to work after three weeks, but it will take up to six months before you have healed completely.

How Much Can I Save on a Butt Lift in Bangkok Compared to Australia or New Zealand?

Butt lifts in Bangkok are, on average, AUD $5,000 compared to AUD $10,000 in Australia.
