Breast Reduction in Thailand

The ultimate guide to Breast Reduction in Thailand

Last fact-checked: 8 March 2020

Save over 50% on breast reductions in Thailand by booking in at one of Medical Departures’ quality-checked surgeons and clinics.

Disproportionately large breasts may not only be a psychological problem, but they may cause physical pain in your back, neck or shoulders.

Why Should I Consider Breast Reduction Surgery in Thailand?

Thailand is renowned for its world-class healthcare facilities, with its fair share of Joint Commission International affiliated hospitals and clinics which attest to its status as one of the world’s first-class medical providers.

Thailand’s status as a fantastic holiday destination is undisputed, and so why not combine your breast reduction with a vacation? Even with a luxurious holiday, you will still save on the cost you’d pay at home.

Why Book with Medical Departures?

While it is commonplace now to have surgery abroad, that doesn’t mean that every clinic or doctor offering medical care has the right qualifications or necessary expertise.

That’s why it always pays to do a little research into breast reduction and find out what’s entailed. Medical Departures does this work for you, checking out surgeon and clinic profiles, seeing what past patients have said, as well as finding out what qualifications and experience they have, including international professional memberships, such as the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Only if everything stacks up do we list them on our site.

We also list high-definition photos and virtual tours of our clinics, so you can look before you book. You’ll see that many clinics in Thailand are extremely modern, putting some of ours at home to shame.

What Does the Procedure for Breast Reduction Entail and When Will I Be Able to Return to Work?

The surgery involves removing fat, glandular tissue and skin, usually with surgery, although in some cases liposuction may be used too, either on its own or in combination with surgery. The technique your surgeon uses will be determined by personal preference and the condition of your breasts.

Most people return to work after a couple of weeks, although you may be able to return sooner if you feel up to it (and don’t have a strenuous job that involves lifting.)

In terms of how long you’ll need to stay in Thailand following surgery, it is best to consult your chosen surgeon about this who will be able to give you a more concrete timeframe.

What Is the Cost of Breast Reduction in Thailand Compared to Australia or New Zealand?

Breast reduction in Thailand costs, on average, around AUD $3,900 (US $2,700, CAD $3,500, £1,800 GBP, €2,400).

This is compared to AUD $7,900 (US $5,400, CAD $7,200, £3,600 GBP, €4,900) in Australia, for example, a price many people have to pay either in part or full depending on the healthcare coverage and insurance

[Please note: these prices are approximate estimates based on international data, calculated at the time of writing.]
