Breast Lift in Bangkok

The ultimate guide to Breast Lift in Bangkok

Last fact-checked: 9 July 2020

Medical Departures can help you find quality-checked surgeons for an affordable breast lift in Bangkok.

Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift restores your bosoms to their former, perkier glory, giving you that youthful elasticity back when the force of gravity starts to take its natural effect—or after childbirth.

Who Is Suitable for a Breast Lift?

After childbirth, many women are left depressed and self-conscious about how their body has changed shape, even if the rest of the world can’t notice. A breast lift is a common procedure that can help; millions of women all over the world have this procedure after they’ve finished having children and don’t intend to get pregnant again.

A breast lift works best on smaller breast sizes that during pregnancy and breast-feeding have increased in size, but have lost elasticity and drooped when the breasts have returned to their normal size. If you are happy with the size and volume of your breasts but want to remove sagging skin, this procedure may be for you.

Why Choose Bangkok for a Breast Lift?

Bangkok has many top-class facilities that have been treating international patients for decades. We have partnered with over 100 qualified surgeons and clinics in the Thai capital who have the experience, expertise and know-how to give you fantastic results at a much lower price point than back home.

Ancillary staff also provide seamless support services, with that famously warm Thai hospitality being a key factor that has helped the country gain its status as one of the medical tourism capitals of the world.

Heading to the bustling city of Bangkok for breast lift surgery may seem daunting, but it is a routine for surgeons here, who perform thousands of these procedures yearly.

Why Book with Medical Departures?

It is always advisable to do some research when choosing your surgeon (yes— some first-time medical tourists do just fly in and walk around looking for the best deal possible!)

Just like any other services, it pays to find out as much as you can about any surgical procedure, such as the pros and cons; whether you are suitable and if it will work for you, as well as the expertise of the surgeon. A good place to start would be to check qualifications and professional memberships—for example, are they board certified? Do they have membership(s) with any international organizations, such as the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery? What licenses do they have?

At Medical Departures we make it easier by providing you with all the information you need about surgeons and facilities in Bangkok. This way, you can choose in the full knowledge that they are quality-checked. So what does quality-checked actually mean?

Our checks and procedures include:

  • Legal and criminal records checks.

  • Checking and verifying qualifications and professional memberships.

  • Conducting personal visits to clinics and hospitals, so we can see for ourselves what facilities they have and what their hygiene and safety procedures are.

  • Collating and publishing real patient testimonials on our site; this gives both ourselves and you an overall impression of the standards of care and quality of the end results.

No surgical or medical procedure can ever be guaranteed completely—our bodies are all different—but using Medical Departures eliminates the risk of ending up at a clinic abroad that you’d normally avoid if you were back home.

We also offer our Best Price Guarantee—yet another reason to book through Medical Departures.

How Long Does a Breast Lift Take and What is Involved?

Breast lift surgery usually takes between one and three hours, depending on how much tissue is to be removed and the exact procedure your surgeon uses. These are briefly outlined below:

  • The ‘anchor’ is the oldest technique: incisions are made around the areola, down toward the breast crease and horizontally along the crease. This produces causes the most noticeable scarring and is usually used in conjunction with a breast reduction.

  • The ‘crescent’ is less common and involves incisions being made along the upper half of the areola. It is usually performed with a breast augmentation and is used for minor sagging.

  • The ‘donut’ is suitable for mild-to-moderate sagging with incisions made around the areola.

  • The ‘lollipop’ is suitable for moderate sagging; it uses a keyhole surgery technique through incisions made around the areola and down toward the breast crease.

  • The ‘scarless’ lift is a suitable procedure for women who are more concerned about volume loss rather than sagging; with no excess skin needed to be removed, the procedure can be made with incisions around the areola, which are hardly noticeable.

What About the Breast Lift Recovery Time?

The recovery time for a breast lift is fairly quick. You may be tender and sore but will be encouraged to walk around as soon as you can after surgery as this promotes healing. You will probably need to avoid bending and lifting for a few days but most people return to work after a week, with normal everyday activities manageable within two weeks.

It may be six weeks before you can embark on strenuous activity, and a full six months before your body completely heals–inside and out–from the surgery.

How Much Can I Save on a Breast Lift in Bangkok?

Breast lifts in Bangkok on average cost around AUD $3,800; this can be compared, for example, to approximately AUD $6,800 in Australia.
