Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in Costa Rica

The ultimate guide to Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in Costa Rica

Last fact-checked: 26 July 2020

Get a Brazilian butt lift in Costa Rica—it may be just what you need if you have a flat behind and always dreamed of flaunting a larger, sexy derriere.

In Costa Rica, you’ll find excellent healthcare services, skilled surgeons and prices a whole lot less than at home. You’ll also get to enjoy a pre-surgery vacation and recover afterward in beautiful, relaxing surroundings.

Is a Brazilian Butt Lift for Me?

The Brazilian butt lift, or BBL as it is popularly called, is a relatively simple procedure that involves removing excess fat from other parts of your body and injecting it back into your butt cheeks (after being cleansed and processed). The technique is carried out in such a way that gives you the shapely curves and volume you want.

Also medically known as gluteal augmentation, the BBL provides a double benefit: fat is removed from areas like the thighs and abdomen, or around the butt cheeks where there is excess fat, you’ll become slimmer in those areas, which often accumulate lumps of stubborn fat that don’t budge even after diet and exercise.

The same fat is refined and re-injected into the cheeks giving you fuller butt cheeks. And since it uses your own fat, the chance of any adverse reaction is rare.

Why Consider Brazilian Butt Lift in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is a prime vacation destination in Central America. This safe, temperate destination has a long list of tourist spots and offers a diverse topography ranging from sandy beaches and blue waters to mountains. More importantly, it has a great deal of green cover and is particularly well known for its ecotourism thanks to its large forest reserves. It is also home to many endangered and unique species of wildlife and has huge biodiversity in terms of flora and fauna

Costa Rica’s numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites also help to attract millions of tourists from all over the world, most of whom flying in from Canada and the U.S thanks to the relatively close proximity.

San Jose is the vibrant capital of Costa Rica, serviced by the Juan Santamaria International Airport. It also offers connectivity to various other destinations in Costa Rica including the well-known tourist sites and reserves. Liberia also has its own airport, in case you plan to go there.

As the Brazilian butt lift usually does not involve invasive surgery, and so your recovery is faster than most other cosmetic procedures. With a butt lift, you can combine a vacation in Costa Rica, just as long as you do your sightseeing before treatment and rest up following your surgeon’s advice after.

How Long Does a Brazilian Butt Lift Take and What Is the Estimated Recovery Time?

The procedure can take several hours as it is a two-part process.

Initially, fat is removed via liposuction from your body, which is refined and processed before being re-injected into specific places on the buttocks. Often, the butt cheeks are sculpted, as fat may be removed from the top and bottom of the butt cheeks and then re-injected into the middle area to add volume. This is done under local sedation and can take around three hours. Initially, you will have increased swelling around the area, but this will subside in some time and that is when you will be able to see the final results.

Because of liposuction, you will have to wear compression garments for around three weeks. And it is important that you should not put weight on the butt. You will have to sleep on your stomach or on the sides and even sit in a particular position to avoid putting weight on the area. You can estimate around three weeks of recovery time.

You will need to be off your butt for some time, so it is best to get any outdoor or strenuous activities out of the way in Costa Rica before your procedure, avoiding long travel time (such as on buses) where you have to sit down. Make sure you have a soft pillow for your flight back and try to spend time away from your seat after takeoff.
