For your reference:

Countless visitors from countries like Australia and New Zealand take advantage of affordable and high-quality medical care available in the Philippines. While it won't be financially viable to make a specific trip for Botox treatment, if you are holidaying or making a business trip, it could make sound financial sense to book the procedure when you are in the country, as you will save money.

You should book in advance with a reputable clinic and practitioner. To ensure you will receive the right service, Medical Departures have visited every single clinic listed on our site to ensure the legitimacy of the staff and facilities. We also perform background to verify qualifications, accreditations and professional memberships. For a clinic to be listed on our website, all of these criteria must be met, as well as meeting international hygiene and safety standards

It is inexpensive to travel in the Philippines, and there is an abundance of activities to keep you occupied during your visit. Aside from the breath-taking beaches, you'll find fantastic diving, surfing, kayaking, wakeboarding or rafting opportunities. Alternatively, the islands provide endless adventure, especially if you're into trekking through rainforests, discovering untouched beaches or summitting volcanic peaks.

For the less adventurous, the Philippines also boasts three of the largest shopping malls in the world and a vast array of exotic cuisines to experience. Coupled with the legendary Filipino hospitality, the Philippines is the ideal location to undergo botox treatment while enjoying a vacation.

What Happens During Botox Treatment?

Botox is generally utilised for smoothing lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. It is most effective on active wrinkles that are caused by facial expressions, eliminating up to 80% of imperfections.

The treatment involves injecting a type of botulinum toxin into your facial muscles. The injections paralyze and relax the muscles, giving a younger-looking appearance.

How Long Does the Procedure Take and What Is the Recovery Time?

Botox is relatively quick to perform and requires virtually no downtime. Once the areas to be treated have been decided upon, the injections take a matter of moments for each area. This is why it's such a great treatment ot have while on holiday - as you'll be able to get on with most activities straight away (although do note that you will experience some swelling, so resting up for around one day is advised, as is avoiding the sea).

Before you undergo Botox treatment:

• Ensure that you haven’t taken and blood thinning medication or aspirin during the previous week
• Do not wear makeup at your appointment
• Use ice packs if you have any bruising or swelling

After your Botox treatment:
• Do not touch your skin where you have had the injections inside the first 24 hours. Rubbing the area could spread the Botox to unintended muscles.
• Avoid strenuous activity
• Do not have a facial in the first 24 hours
• If you experience any swelling, use ice packs

You are advised to avoid lying down for several hours after the procedure, and you may experience swelling, bruising, redness and possibly some bleeding at the injection site. This normally only lasts a few hours, but could last for 1-2 days if you have sensitive skin.

The results are temporary and will generally last for three to five months, and the procedure will need to be repeated on a regular basis.
