Why Would I Need an Arm Lift?

Arm lift surgery will tone up and firm those flabby upper arms, giving you a sleeker-looking silhouette and helping to make you look fabulous in short-sleeved tops.

South Korea is one of the major centers in Asia for cosmetic, plastic and aesthetic surgery, especially for visitors from China, Japan, Taiwan and the United States. Its medical facilities for international patients are excellent and the country offers vibrant cities, stunning countryside and a society that embraces both traditional culture and modern-day living.

Why Should I Undergo Arm Lift Surgery in South Korea?

Healthcare in South Korea ranks among the best in Asia. The hospitals and clinics we have partnered with are modern and are geared towards treating international patients. Many other older hospitals are in the process of upgrading their facilities to cope with the current influx of medical tourists.

One of the highest quality healthcare accreditations in the world is the Joint Commission International, and South Korea has almost 30 of these facilities located across the country, including in some of its most popular tourist destinations, such as Seoul and Busan.

Not surprisingly, for a country that embraces new technology, the latest specialist appliances and state-of-the-art equipment are in general use. The country ranks among the highest in the world for MRI and CT scanning machines—ahead of countries such as the UK and Germany.

English is spoken by doctors and other clinic staff; in fact, it is taught as a second language in primary and secondary schools, so you shouldn’t have any communication problems.

Why Book with Medical Departures?

When you are going on a surgical or medical trip anywhere, we always suggest you do your own research. Information with regard to where the best places for surgery are isn’t always easy to come by—especially with a wealth of false content online when simply using your web browser.

This is where Medical Departures steps in. All of our listings have been fully background-checked by us. We:

  • Conduct onsite visits

  • Corroborate qualifications, professional memberships and surgeon experience

  • Verify professional licenses

  • Gather real patient reviews

We then publish all of this information on our site alongside high-definition before-and-after photos and virtual video tours. This gives you the opportunity to see for yourself what’s available, decide what suits you best and then book with full confidence.

How Long Does an Arm Lift Normally Take and What’s Involved in the Procedure?

The surgery usually takes an hour or two. There are a number of different arm lift procedures so the time will depend on which one you have.

The procedure can potentially just entail liposuction, but unless you have good skin elasticity, the results may be disappointing. The majority usually have liposuction combined with arm lift surgery

  • The standard arm lift is where an incision is made from underarm to elbow

  • The limited incision arm lift only requires a small incision under the armpit

  • The extended arm lift uses the same incision locations as the standard arm lift (from elbow to underarm) but the incisions are carried on to the chest wall

Your surgeon will discuss your options based on your goals and preferences.

What Is the Recovery Time for an Arm Lift in South Korea?

Immediately after the surgery, your arms will, of course, feel tender and stiff, but the recovery time is generally brief when compared to other cosmetic procedures. In fact, some people fly back home and are back to work within a few days.

You will need to be careful not to overwork yourself during the first few days, although gently stretching and moving will help you to heal much faster and minimize swelling. After a week, the bruising and swelling will begin to dissipate and you should have full movement back after a month. Strenuous activities, like heavy lifting and sports, should be avoided for at least six weeks.

What Is the Cost Comparison for Arm Lifts in South Korea Compared to Australia and New Zealand?
